If Christine becomes hurt, Azoth will feel that pain too. If Christine dies, her animas disappears in a cloud of red or blue dust but returns when she's brought back to life.
Christine can sense when Azoth is injured or is in trouble, but can't feel the animas's pain. However, the more injured Azoth is, the more energy drains from Christine. This can result in illness, emotional numbing, or exhaustion if it's a severe injury.
